Out-of-Network Insurance

An out-of-network insurance policy is a type of health insurance plan that allows you to receive medical services from mental health professionals and healthcare providers who are not part of the insurance company's network. However, there are a few key points to understand about how out-of-network insurance policies work:

  • If you use an out-of-network provider, you will need to submit the claims to your health insurance company manually. The insurance company will review the claim and reimburse you based on your policy's out-of-network benefits

  • Some out-of-network services may require pre-authorization from your insurance company before they will provide coverage. It is crucial to check with your insurer about their pre-authorization requirements for out-of-network services.

  • Some insurance plans, especially those with restricted networks, may have limited or no out-of-network coverage at all. Always check your insurance policy's terms and conditions or contact the insurance company directly to understand your coverage options.

  • If you choose to ask your insurance provider for reimbursement you are granting the insurance company the right to access your records and possibly limit the number of sessions you attend. Some clients prefer to continue service through private pay to insure their privacy and treatment options.

  • If you have a PPO, you may be able to request reimbursement through your insurance provider. Lauren Perez Therapy requires full payment at the time of service but can provide you with a record of services or a “super bill” that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. If you are interested in using Out of Network benefits for PPO plans, I suggest you contact your provider and ask:

    1.    Do I have Out of Network coverage?

    2.    How much of the $185 fee would you cover?

Our inner parts contain valuable qualities and our core Self knows how to heal, allowing us to become integrated and whole. In IFS all parts are welcome.”

  • During our first session together we will start with an intake to gather information on your past experiences and current situation. We will begin to build a trusting relationship, the key to any successful therapeutic work. During our first session together we will start with an intake to gather information on your past experiences and current situation. We will begin to build a trusting relationship, the key to any successful therapeutic work. Once all of our parts feel safe in the meeting space we can start to move forward. I work through a lens guided by Internal Family Systems, meaning that we will use parts language to lead us on this journey (no experience necessary). We will explore and learn about the parts active during situations and experiences and begin to shift our lens from judgment to compassion for their hard work and efforts. We will also incorporate guided meditation, self-care exercises, and somatic or body-based work into our journey together.
